Tom Wimer is the founder and chief executive officer of Axeo, his third successful entrepreneurial venture. During his more than 25 years as a human resources professional, he has counseled some of the world's most respected companies, top federal government agencies and non-profit organizations on a variety of issues, including human capital management, organizational effectiveness and learning solutions.
A trusted leader shaping the future of the HR industry, Tom is the past president and CEO of KnowledgeBank, Inc., an award-winning human resources management consulting firm he founded in 2003. Tom's first business venture, Miller & Wimer, LLC, was a successful retained executive search firm that he sold in 1999. Prior to launching KnowledgeBank, Tom established and led the Human Capital Solutions practice of the Mid-Atlantic Region of Resources Connection (now Resources Global Professionals), an international professional services spin-off of Deloitte. In this role, he built a solid base of HR professionals capable of delivering a full spectrum of services, including recruitment and selection, compensation, benefits, training, workforce development, and leadership and organizational development. Before that, Tom held executive HR positions at several globally recognized companies including ExxonMobil, where he was accountable for all executive, experienced professional and campus recruitment programs in the United States, while serving as a corporate liaison to international affiliates. Earlier in his career, he was a senior, corporate HR executive with The Dial Corporation and an HR and operations manager with General Electric.
Tom serves on the Board of Directors for Columbia Lighthouse for the Blind, and has served in leadership roles for the HR Leadership Forum and other organizations focused on advancing the field of human resources management.
In 2006, Tom was named as a finalist by the HR Leadership Awards of Greater Washington for the Human Resources Professional Excellence Award, which recognizes extraordinary leadership within the human resources profession.
